Danger Remembered

We used to have three Golden Retreivers. Danger, passed away the weekend before Thanksgiving, 2007. He was 15 years old. Quite a dog, he was!

That in mind, here's a couple of fond stories about this amazing dog.

BM (before me), Fred was a dating machine. So he says. Anyway, one evening, he happened to bring a female "guest" home for an overnight. In the morning, Fred was making coffee, and his guest was getting ready to leave. BUT...it seems that during the night, Danger decided to chew a hole the size of a basketball in the crotch of her bluejeans. Needless to say, THAT relationship went no where, she left the house (lucky she had a long coat) never to be seen again. Personally, I think Danger must have had some kind of intuition. Hmmmmmmm....they do say dogs are a good judge of character.

So...in his later years, Danger developed quite a problem with intestinal gas. One day, the Schwan's Food delivery guy stopped and I had him come in, sit across from me at the bar (he did not see the dog, who was laying at my feet) while I looked at the brochure. After a minute, Danger chose that moment to let go a lengthy and noisy fart. I was mortified! I said, "Oh...that was our dog." The Schwan's man just said, "Yeah, right lady."

We miss our Rooh.
