Well, this blogging thing has been on my mind, and tonight, I take a crack at opening up some, and sharing some information.
Amoung many things, I am an artist, and a teacher. Today, for the first time in about 20 years, I took a student. She is a friend who wanted to learn how to paint with oils, and her husband had given her a set of oil paints as a Christmas gift. Today, she came to my home and we set up in our family room which overlooks the lake. The light was nice, albeit a cloudy day. She chose a composition by John Constable...one of my favourite artists. And, the rest, as they say, is history. It was enjoyable, rewarding and I had forgotten how much I love to teach. Without sounding too conceited, I am a GREAT art teacher. My husband, Fred was about, and he has told me three times tonight that he always knew I was a wonderful artist, but had no idea I was such a talent at instructing, as well. THAT made my day!
By the way...I live with my husband of nearly four years, and our two Golden Retrievers, Molly and Brody. We've recently added two HUGE windows in our porch that faces Lake Wissota, and this space has become a haven for us - Fred playing his Gibson (Epiphone) SG, and the dogs watching my seven bird feeders...well, not the feeders, the birds, and me with paint brush in hand!
