Over the years, I have grown to love the sound of wind chimes. In the summer, there is a hammock situated near our lake bank, and I have one set of wind chimes hanging from a tree there. Another that Ry and Jess gave me are in the family room, but always find their way outside when it gets warm. There's another three hanging in the bell tower, and one at the main entrance to our home. For Christmas this year, Fred went to Fall Creek, where there is an Amish store where they handcraft HUGE wind chimes. He got me these. It may be a little difficult to gauge how large they are. However, they have the most incredibly soothing tone, which is deep and clear. Today, the wind was from the northwest, which would be to the left of the chimes in the pic...and you can see how the thingie (I don't know what that is called...the gonger...???), anyway, it was really singing today. Nice. The birds don't seem to mind all the chimes, which suprised me. I do keep them a decent distance from the feeders. I love being in the yard in the summertime and listening to a concert of wind chimes.
