Poodle Bombs

Very slowly, the season seems to be evolving into what I like refer to as poodle bomb gathering season. When we had three Golden’s producing two poops a day, times one month…well, you do the math. With just Molly and Brody now, and throughout most of the winter months, there’s a third less in the “poodle bomb” department, but still, as the snow is melting, a person has to step lightly! Not that I am begging for any more snow, I’m totally ready for the big melt. However, when it snows, it covers things, if you know what I mean! Outasight, Outamind.
Fred and I would not trade our pups for anything. They keep our toes warm at night by sleeping with us, and there is hardly anything better than dog therapy when a body does not feel well. I think they possess a sense of protection toward their humans.
So the snow is leaving, the lake is all watery, and will soon turn darker as the sun hits the icy surface, a honeycomb of frozen water will soon disappear. This year, Fred predicts the “ice will be out” by April 18th. I’ll keep everyone posted.
In the Fall, I planted 50-60 Paper-white bulbs along the southwest side of the house in a flower bed that gets a lot of spring sun. They are actually peeping through the black dirt! It won’t be long now. Poodle bomb gathering means Spring is not far off!
