Posh Spice and Unhealthy Air in Wisconsin

I went back to work this past Monday. It was good to try and get into my normal routine again, and Monday felt pretty good, although I am still suffering with symptoms of upper respiratory distress.
I decided to get my hair cut and a foiled right after work, because sometimes when a person takes lots of meds and is sick, their hair gets all funky. So, when I went to the salon, the stylist asked me what I wanted done. I suggested she do something to make me look like Posh Spice. Her straight-faced answer was, "Oh, everyone asks for that." So it goes. Actually, I got a really nice cut and foil and at least I look better, if not feel better.

Yesterday, I was listening to the news and the announcer spoke of an unhealthy air quality alert for the entire state, advising anyone with respiratory issues to stay inside, no unnecessary activity for the next two days. What is up with this? This is freakin' Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, not LA. Smog? Huh? The truth of the matter is this: it's right on the money because yesterday and today have been set back days for me as far as my health. Breathing is more difficult and I am more and more fatigued.

My visit to the internist went well. I really like my new doctor, and go back in three months to re-assess what's going on with me.

And, finally...

MEN...if you don't want to read this next part, DON'T...IT'S ABOUT CHICK STUFF.

I am officially in menopause. Too much info? I don't care, it's my blog. I'm thinking of having a tampon burning party this spring.

The air alert was during those awfully cold days. I think everybody had their wood stove, fireplace, or whatever they had for extra heat going. Some interesting things I've read recently about air pollution that affect even us Wisconsinites. Apparently, ocean vessels contribute a hugh amount to air quality problems particularly around port cities like L.A. Even things like raising too many goats in China for their cashmere contribute to the problem when they denude the ground and create kind of a dust bowl scenario, and those dust particles travel all over the world.
