Well, I am thinking our bandit in the yard (the raccoon) is a girl bandit. She has not been seen as much of late, and she was REALLY huge the last time we caught her munching on sunflower seeds and peanuts. All this leads me to believe that she has probably given birth to her little raccoonlettes. Is that what they are called?
I fill the swinging feeder every night, and in the morning, I know she has been there. We also have a family of mice living beneath the pile of sunflower nut shells, and under our family room, there are many rabbits. This I know for sure because of the tiny little poop balls!
Our dogs are way too slow to catch any of these critters, so they are relatively safe. It's always fun to see the little bunnies in the Spring when they are out at dusk munching on the fresh grass. Although Spring is not my best time of year, with all the mud, and rain and dirt...I am so looking forward to everything waking up and seeing all the new babies...birds, raccoons, and bunnies. Bring it on!
