For anyone who does not know this, probably millions of my faithful readers...I am petrified of going to the dentist and even more so of having novacaine and actual drilling work and stuff like that. I was supposed to see the dentist yesterday, and they called to tell me my appointment was for today...so I had an extra day of agonizing.
I'm here to report that, today...it was not all that bad. I had one small cavity in a back molar repaired. I also had not had to have any work done in a few years, so it had been some time since my last journey to the jaws open from hell ordeal. Dr. Sweeney is very nice, and funny, and also patient. He told me everything he was going to do. (Nice girl, good girl...LOLOL). So, I am still afraid to go and have anything done, but at least this time it was not as traumatic as I'd built it up to be. The epi-free novacaine is almost worn off; I don't feel the crater in my mouth like before; and maybe I can have a Bloody Mary without it spilling out the side of my mouth!
Highlight of the experience? I gleeked on Dr. Sweeney, and he laughed it off and said it happens all the time! Good on him!
