Fred and Rat Poison

I just learned that the drug cumadin (sp.?) is given to folks that have had surgery, and this drug is meant to thin the blood to avoid blot clots. The interesting thing is that it's literally rat poison. Yep, rats eat the stuff, and they bleed to death from the inside.
I love my husband, and he is doing great since his knee replacement, but I never in a million years thought I would be feeding him rat poison.
By the way, something else I have learned is this: Vitamin K is an antidote to rat poison, and found in leafy vegetables, cauliflower and a host of other foods he will stay away from while healing.
Fred will get his blood tested for levels of the "poison" throughout his recovery.
