Prospero ano Nuevo

Happy New Year to all! It's been a really fun year blogging, and I hope to continue through 2009. I realize there are a few "stories" and posts I have not finished, but I will. Some days, I just don't blog, and some days I make three or five entries. It's how it goes.

I hope folks have enjoyed the Original Cyn and most of all found some of the posts informative. My cousin Jeff told me once blogging was (I hope I get this right) a little self-indulgent. Well, if he is right, so what...it's a way to release some steam at times. It's also a great way to stay creative and work on writing skills.

One thing I think bloggers really appreciate and enjoy is the comment portion. It's always fun for me to read your comments, and interesting to know folks out there are having some fun with it, too. So, keep 'em coming!

I sometimes wish I could be more outspoken in this arena. Alas, I cannot. When you are in the public sector, there are some guidelines - spoken and unspoken, that need to be followed. Not a problem. I respect that, even though I may disagree with it.

So, here's to looking forward. Those who know me in real life understand going forward is my thing; it's what I do best. So much so that when I do go backward, I simply run into things. And that is the TRUTH. Things like, telephone poles, traffic cones, concrete pillars and the worst three were a tree in my own yard, Fred's beloved Dodge truck and that Deputy squad. Laughing? Ok, I can take it. But, on a deeper level, I think it sort of defines me to a degree.

They (whoeverthehelltheyare) say 2009 is going to be a tough year. Don't look back.

We have a new President, whom I admire and respect. We have many, many blessings compared to others around the world.

Happy New Year!

I totally agree -- if blogging is self-indulgent, that's no reason to stop doing it! And "indulgence" is probably relative anyway. One of the best parts about reading other peoples' blogs is that you get to know them through their writings. And it is a great creative outlet, and it's good for writing skills, like you said. I'm still amazed that people take time to read a lot of the crap I blog about, but then I think about the time I spend reading other blogs and I guess it makes sense!

Happy new year!!
