I'll not belabor this: if you are short-tempered, crabby, and have an "I don't give a damn" attitude, stay out of public service.
I called another "agency" of government yesterday to ask a question relating to my department at City Hall and got a female voice on the line. I introduced myself, said good morning, and because it is still January, wished her happy new year.
The chickie on the other side of this sarcastically said, "Well, aren't you the cheery one, now what do you want?"
Bad day?
Period?
Pissed at your husband?
Cold?
Does it really matter?
I'm just saying...if you work in the public sector, and even if you are having issues with life, please don't be unpleasant to the people who pay you to do what you do.
There now, I did say please.
I'm just saying...

I provide Great customer service, it keeps the customers coming back and I cannot tell you how many times I would like to tell people who wait on me "I would not hire you" because your rude and uncaring. what every happened to customer service. With the economy where its at, everyone better wise up to that big smile and "what can I do for you today"
Ezactly! or..."How can I help you?" It means so much, just 4 small words. Kind of like two most important words..."I'm sorry".
