Hmmmm, does anyone know the answer to this?

So, tonight I met with old friends, and met some new friends for dinner at one of our local Mexican eateries. Nynnie, Shannon, myself and new friends Jen and Jessica (love the name Jessica-for obvious reasons).

Anywhoooooo...when it came time to settle up for our culinary delights, a not-to-be-mentioned party handed over a $20 bill as part of the check. By the way, I am not one of those folks that has a hissy over no separate checks. Everyone at our table was college educated women who can do simple mathematics, right? Well, I am the first to admit I barely made it through applied math in high school, but oddly, I ended up in a couple of jobs that actually require me to do some fancy 'rithmatic! That said, we could do our own math and figure out who owed what.

Ok, I am off the topic some...so...this particular $20 bill was was torn a bit, but I would say 2/3 of it was intact. The question is: Is this still legal tender for goods and services rendered? When is torn paper money not worth its face value? Can a person take a torn bill to the bank and get a fresh, new one?

Inquiring minds want to know. And, I suppose I could look it up on Wikepedia or Yahoo search, but this was more fun.

And, peanuts on the floor at Poo's is sort of entertaining...however, I cannot imagine the clean-up...Denise is an angel!
