Bracing For the Cold...Random Thoughts

I can feel it. You know, the impending COLD. I might as well be right out with it, I HATE WINTER. Up until now it's been relatively decent, but this weekend, it is supposed to be brutally cold, and all I really want to do it just stay home, make soup, watch old movies, paint, stay in my jammies all day, bake, take naps, play with the dogs, play cribbage with Fred, read, and did I mention nap? What on earth do YOU do in the winter...that is if you are not an outdoorsy type of person?

Our cardinals at the feeders seem to eat at the beginning of the day, and at the end of the day. Today, I filled all the feeders to the brim, and we also have a heated water dish for them, so that has fresh water in it, as well. The bunnies come out at night and feed on the spillage - which consists of corn, sunflower seeds, safflower seeds, peanuts, dried cherries and raisins. There's suet and other fatty "lard bars"-Fred calls them out for the Nuthatches and all the Woodpeckers. Brrrrrrr, poor little things!

The weekend is almost upon us, and we are excited about Joe coming, and will meet the rest of the family. And, of course, the big game on Sunday night. Someone told me all of Wisconsin is closed down on Monday, next. Is this a rumour or truth?????
