Gay Marriage in California

On a roll here...and today, I listened to the news, and came to understand more about the majority of California residents support equal rights for all married folks, and that includes same sex partners. BRAVO! I truly believe that if a poll were taken tomorrow right here in the heart of the Midwest, MOST folks would echo the California residents.
Tonight, when Bill O'Reilly asked Dennis Miller what he thought of this recent revelation, his comments were, "I would put the issue of gay marriage legality on about my one-millionth topic of importance." Something like that...anyway, he was NOT blowing off the idea; rather, he was ULTRA supportive, mentioning he knows a gay couple who are raising an adopted daughter, and he has never seen such a wonderful, loving and functional family. What I got from his comments was that it SHOULD NOT be an issue at all. Again, BRAVO!
I feel as though there are also about a million really important issues we need to deal with as a human race. Yes, it is important that we all have equal rights. I think all married couples should have all the benefits, and agree whole-heartedly that gay people should be allowed to be legally bound.
Think about it. REALLY think about it. Aren't there so many injustices in the world that need our attention?

Right on. Stephen Colbert had that wacko Tony Perkins from the Family Research Council on his show this week, and Perkins asserted that gay marriage is one of the biggest issues concerning Americans. Colbert turned to the audience and asked "Do YOU care?", and the audience just mumbled "no, not really, don't care, Perkins is a nimrod", etc.. I'll see if I can find a clip.
