Venting

So. I watched most of the DNC and the RNC. My initial reaction is that the delegates for both major parties are drawn in to the carnival like atmosphere and its four days of hoping to watch themselves on TIVO after it's all over. Case in point-did you check out some of the headwear? How about that guy standing behind (shit, I've forgotten the name of the speaker because of this dork of the week) some person, talking on his cellular device, calling all his friends to tell them to watch him making an ass of himself on national television. This wasn't a rock concert! I should know, but I don't, what it takes to become a delegate. But...I digress...

Barack Obama, Joe Biden, John McCain, Sarah Palin. Yikes. For the record, I am still undecided, and will watch the debates with much interest.

In truth, I want to be convinced of the team that will lead our country to become a better place. I am so very proud to be an American. I've not travelled the world to compare my life with others, but I do know for some unknown reason, I was fortunate to be born in the USA, and to have parents and an extended family that loved me, and was taught right from wrong, and always had food on the table and shoes to wear to private and public school. I'm thankful for all that. Beyond grateful.

Change is also inevitable. Embrace it, or your life will be routine chaos. Mmmmmmm, gotta love those juicy oxymorons, no? Reminds me of some great Steely Dan lyrics, "almost gothic, in a natural way." (Damn, I am rambling today, and it gets that way when the thoughts are moving faster than my fingers.)

So, I guess I could be labeled an independent, but one who finds some comfort in being a conservative person to an extent, and embraces the more liberal and reality base of the left. So it goes...

What I do despise is liars. Hypothetical: Can there actually be a politician that is NOT a liar? More to the point, can there be a politician who is NOT portrayed as a liar by the press? Are politicians rock stars who get all caught up in the applause?

I did watch Bill O'Reilly's interview with Barack Obama - Part One. All in all I thought it was fair, and the Senator was direct with his answers. However, what was the point of Bill badgering Senator Obama to admit he voted incorrectly regarding the "surge"? What the hell difference does it make? None. And surge? Nice word for increasing the mayhem and killing.

Ms. Palin. Well, I will just recommend going to the City of Wasilla website and search around a little. www.ci.wasilla.ak.us You will find that someone got to the current City Administrator who issued all kinds of answers to those "frequently asked questions". What a bunch of bullshit that is. Wouldn't you like to talk to the librarian who did not leave her job, and better yet, wouldn't you like to know the titles of the books Ms. Palin inquired about to have removed from the City Library bookshelves.

Ok, enough venting for this eve. Tomorrow is a big heart day for me. Although, venting is a good thing.

Roughly half of humanity usually or always makes decisions based on their emotions. The other half (who also have emotions) usually or always imposes some form of logic onto the decision-making process. Due to the Republicans havin a much-better celebrity on their ticket, I predict that the emotional voters will go strongly for McCain, the logic-imposers will edge toward Obama, and McCain will win.
