By the way...Mr. Singel is my boss...

Ron Singel couldn’t believe it as he watched TV on Friday. He saw Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain pick his vice presidential running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, a woman Singel met while working in Wasilla, Alaska from 2004-06.
“It blew me out of the water. I thought, holy cow!” Singel, Chippewa Falls City Administrator, said Friday.Singel was so impressed with Palin he worked on her successful campaign for governor in 2006.“She’s an honest person, and she’s a sincere person. She’s doing the best for the state. ... She’s just a good person,” said Singel, who was Wasilla’s first director of economic development. He held that post after Palin left office as Wasilla’s mayor.Palin continues to live in Wasilla, a city with a population of 6,500 about 50 miles north of Anchorage. In describing Palin, Singel used the terms “transparency in government” and “integrity.”She is a conservative and is very fiscally responsible, Singel said.“She is so non-political. She is so dedicated to what she does,” he said.“I just think she’s a good person,” he said of Palin, 44, who has a reputation of being a political reformer.Palin defeated Republican Gov. Frank Murkowski in a primary and then defeated a former governor in the general election to become governor in December 2006.

I believe Ron's story. I also believe that eventually any leader who climbs the ladder will have so many constituents, with so many interests, needs, and wishes, that the leader will not be able to please all of them all of the time. But, in order to get a majority to back her up, she will have to lie to some.
Palin has not gotten to this point, but as Lincoln said, "You can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time."
But, on balance, I like Sarah Palin.
