The purpose of this post is to thank all the people who know me in real life, and also who sort of know me from this blog. Why?
Because even though I take some ribbing and people joke with me some, and even others tell me I go overboard, it's blog posts like the previous one that make a difference. Not until just about a year ago, was I aware of puppy mills. Sure, I knew the terminology, but never really found out what they are, how they are operated, by whom and the in depth horror stories you won't see on Oprah. Let's face it, Miss O has an audience she wants to inform, but not scare away. That said, Miss Winfrey does get after the topic, but didn't really shock her viewers enough, in my humble opinion. I mean, people would say they just couldn't take it. It would upset them too much. Seeing those defenseless animals suffer was JUST TOO F-ING heartbreaking for TV.
Point.
I know it's a terrible thing to talk about and see. It's sad. BUT, because I get on my soapbox about these things, more people than you can imagine have at the very least become aware of the tragedies. Isn't that at least a step in the right direction?
So, thanks...to the people I know who rescue. Thanks for not rolling your eyes behind my back. Thanks for giving a shit.
