I'm back with Buzz-Words

Wow, it's been a while since I have posted to this wonderful world of blogging. And, to further complicate the matter, I have sort of fallen into the Facebook deal, which as you know also requires...or could require a fair amount of posting, reading and playing around! So, I guess keep posted to both forums for news, information, humor, opinions, forces, ideas, causes and in general...self-indulgent play!

So, this past week I was thinking about buzz-words. You know all about them...words that are trendy and are most often spewed out by news-reporters and other journalistic types regarding issues and events. Most of them don't hang around for very long. Many of them get over-used and seem trite and silly, which also makes the speaker appear the same.

Two most recent buzz-words that sort of piss me off are "vetted" and "toxic assets". Oh, I forgot to mention, some of these buzz deals are phrases, as if a word alone wasn't enough!

So, vetted...which mainly and commonly refers to tending to a horse's well-being has now entered into the mainstream media as some kind of maintenance of a particular issue or thing. Yikes!

And toxic assets? Why in the hell don't we just call a spade a spade? It's all the money that banks have on their books from people who don't pay their monthly loan installments.

One thing I know for sure...Bullshit will always be bullshit...nothing buzzy about it, and furthermore...bullshit holds up just like another very cool word...COOL.
