Nightline

Last Friday, March 28th, Nightline's middle story was on the Puppy Mill topic.

I don't know if you tuned in to see it, but in my humble opinion, the producer's at ABC should be ashamed of themselves for the
"namby-pamby" way they approached and presented the topic.

Sure, I know some of these puppy mill images can be tragic and brutal. But, this program aired at 10:30 PM. The kiddies are in bed by then. And, Friday night? Gosh, I hardly watch Nightline at all, let alone on date night. Plus, puppy mills ARE tragic and brutal.

More on this later, but I will leave you with my very strong opinion on this...
Rather than show the little doggie running in place inside some kind of oversized gerbil exercise thingie...show the truth: The Golden Retriever mama, whose belly was scarred and butchered by an Amish dog breeder in PA (300+ dogs) who performed a C-Section on this poor girl without the aid of anesthesia, and then stitched her tummy up with twine. THAT'S the real story. Too tough to visualize, let alone actually see it on TV? Think about the dog.

Yours truly wonders how ABC could possibly think humane and puppy mill could be used in the same sentance.

I'm just saying...

A post script...I am not angry about the story. Thanks to ABC for attempting to shed some light on this issue. Just...they could have made a bigger impact by putting a little more thought into it.
